On the advice of a lawyer I know, a former adviser to the Prime Minister of Israel, I decided to try to seek justice through the Israeli legal system.
I filed a complaint against the Belarusian police officers at my local police station. In theory, since a crime accompanied by antisemitic acts had been committed against me, the Israeli authorities should open an investigation.
On the other hand, I knew perfectly well that even if the Israel Police took it up, the dictator's regime would of course never really cooperate with them. So it was more of a symbolic act, for my own peace of mind, to know that I had tried this route too.
Complaint to the police
After the police I went to Jerusalem and put a note in the Western Wall.
At the Sovetsky district police department (RUVD), that very fence is what the officers called the "Wailing Wall" among themselves. And so I visited the real Wailing Wall...

A few weeks later a refusal to open a case came.
