During the day the internet started cutting out. At lunchtime we moved to a rented apartment right in the center of Minsk. In the evening we went out to Zybitskaya Street to eat, and there were already a lot of police in the center. After 8 p.m. they started blocking off the ways people could walk through. Looking for a way home, we ended up near the "Belarus" hotel.

From there you can see the Stela, where the protests were. We saw stun grenades being used and ambulances pulling up to the crowd again and again. Somehow we made it home through the police cordons.
Police barrier at 27 Independence Avenue
At night, from the windows of the rented apartment, I watched the police detain people who were walking along Independence Avenue in the center. First they were put into an ordinary city bus, then police vans (avtozaks) came and took them away somewhere. Later I ended up in a bus like that myself and found out where the police van goes.
